An Act of Heroism!
It was typical day at the Detroit Zoo with people crowded around the ever-popular Chimpanzee exhibit area and happily watched as two playful chimps chased one another around the edge of the enclosure. However horror be struck the crowd when one slipped and plunged into the moat that surrounds the exhibit.
It was immediately obvious that the chimpanzee was struggling in the water and it then became apparent that it was actually drowning, however it also became apparent that the zoo staff refused to come to the animals rescue!
Rick Swope, a zoo visitor standing at the edge of the enclosure decided to jump in and try to save the animal!
