The Fun Will Never End with These ‘Adventure Time’ Tattoos
Travel to the Land of Ooo with tattoos of Finn the Human, Jake the Dog, Princess Bubblegum, Marceline the Vampire Queen and BMO.
Over the years, Cartoon Network has released a number of shows that have had a great impact on popular culture including “The Powerpuff Girls,” “Dexter’s Laboratory,” and “Johnny Bravo.” From 2010-2018, Cartoon Network ran one of their most prolific and popular animated programs to date—”Adventure Time.” The series was created by Pendleton Ward and follows the adventures of Finn the Human (voiced by Jeremy Shada) and his best friend/ adoptive brother Jake the Dog (voiced by John DiMaggio) in the Land of Ooo. In their adventures, they encounter many magical and colorful characters, including ruler of the Candy Kingdom Princess Bubblegum, the self-proclaimed ruler of the Ice Kingdom Ice King and the 1,000 year old Marceline the Vampire Queen.
“Adventure Time” ran for 10 seasons and showcased a whopping 283 episodes of action packed adventures. The series concluded on September 3rd, 2018, however, this isn’t the last we’ll see of the beloved characters. “Adventure Time” returned to our screens for “Adventure Time: Distant Lands,” a four part special that airs exclusively on HBO Max. The first episode was released on June 25th and centers on BMO, the sentient computer robot that lives with Finn and Jake. The second episode is expected to drop at some point in 2020 and will follow Princess Bubblegum and Marceline the Vampire Queen.
Princess Bubblegum and Marceline the Vampire Queen shocked the world in the series finale when they revealed their feelings for each other and exchanged a kiss. The pair had been harboring feelings toward each other for many years and in a later montage at the end of the episode, they were shown as a couple. This shows the progress the LGBTQ+ community has made toward representation and now we see characters of all sexualities in a variety of animated series, notably “Steven Universe” and “She-Ra and the Princesses of Power.”
In honor of the incredible story that is “Adventure Time,” take a look at some of our favorite tattoos inspired by the show in the gallery below.
