Ryan Ashley Gives Birth to Healthy Baby Boy

Welcome to the world, Atheus DiCristina

On Saturday May 16th, 2020 tattoo artists Ryan Ashley and Arlo DiCristina welcomed a healthy baby boy into the world. Atheus DiCristina is the name of the couple’s first child, who arrived several weeks earlier than initially expected.

I’m sure a ton of you saw the big news already, but @arlotattoos and I had such a great experience welcoming our little dude @atheusdicristina into the world on Saturday! I haven’t slept much since then, or showered, or been on my phone pretty much at all which is why I’ve been a bit MIA- but I’ve been taking the time to get to know this new magical person and enjoy our little family! I will tell you though that it’s true what everyone says about having “your own” kid- it’s a crazy, primal, almost instinctual love feeling that you haven’t felt before, that grows stronger every day. I can’t stop staring at him and thinking about how lucky we are to have gotten him, and then everything else in the background kind of blurrs and slowly fades away. I’ll also tell you that I’d give birth any day over being pregnant! I had an epidural so I cheated a bit, but overall there was nothing to be afraid of and I can’t tell you how grateful I am that despite the midst of a pandemic, we have had such a calm, loving, and easy experience the last few days bringing this guy onto planet earth. Arlo has been amazing and watching him take the role of dad has made me realize it’s a role he’s been cut out for and waiting for his whole life. Who would have guessed? Thank you to everyone who’s sent us gifts, cards, and simply just your love and support. Everyone came through and made us feel entirely engulfed in care and support! Atheus is so, SO lucky… and so are we. ❤️

Ryan Ashley announced her pregnancy to the world on the cover of “Inked” in a stunning photoshoot inspired by Demi Moore’s 1991 “Vanity Fair” cover. In the spread, Ryan Ashley talked about her pregnancy in her own words, sharing the ups and downs of the experience.

Surprise ❤️ YEP! It’s true! We are so honored and SO excited to finally share the news with everybody. (along with nervous, terrified, all the usual expected brand new parent emotions) Seriously, do you guys have any idea how hard it’s been keeping this a secret for so long?! Thank you @inkedmag for featuring this once in a lifetime reveal of @arlotattoos and my very first “collab” on your April 2020 cover, but this opportunity was so much more than that. Thank you most of all for letting me really open up in my own words and sincere vulnerability about this experience and the rollercoaster it’s been. This issue features not only the story of my journey, but a beautiful photo spread featuring this ever growing baby bump so watch out for it on news stands in the coming weeks! Thank you @shootmepeter for making me not only LOOK beautiful, but feel confident in this brand new body I’m in. Thank you @sami_hajar and @inkedmag for not only supporting me for all of these years, but supporting my family ❤️ and thank you to my husband @arlotattoos for being the wild, outrageous, imperfectly perfect Tarzan human I am lucky enough to share this life with. I wouldn’t have it, or you, any other way. I love you more very day, and I’m so excited for this little one to have you as his Dad.

“The past few months—since all five of those pregnancy tests turned out to be accurate—have been a psychological struggle, a mental battle and a physical test of both perseverance and self worth,” Ryan Ashley shares. “Pregnancy has taught me that the value I placed on so many things was materialistic, momentary and surface level, therefore, fragile. It’s been a brutal awakening learning what’s most important, but it has been a gift from the universe, for the hardest lessons are the most important to learn.”

Today is the day! About to welcome little @atheusdicristina into this world..Soooo…….. does anyone have any good suggestions for a middle name? So far we have Atheus ________ DiCristina. All ideas are appreciated

Atheus DiCristina was born at St Mary’s Medical Center in Grand Junction, Colorado—close by to Elysium Studios, where both Ryan Ashley and Arlo tattoo. Ryan Ashley and Arlo DiCristina first connected at a Club Tattoo event in Las Vegas, which also featured appearances by Nikko Hurtado and Roman Abrego. The pair went on to start dating and announced that they were an item on the Januaury 2019 cover of “Inked.” Not long after announcing they were together, Ashley moved to Colorado, the pair got married and along came Atheus.
