75 Creative Cry Baby Tattoos
Are you a cry baby?
Let’s get one thing perfectly clear: crying is not a sign of weakness. In fact, showing emotions shows strength. Our society puts an unfair standard on us, especially men and boys, not to cry—even during times of grief. But, it’s time this changed.
Crying is a natural, human response to sadness, anger and even happiness. In infants, cries are how they communicate their basic needs with their parents or guardians. The phrase cry baby describes someone who cries or complains excessively and it’s thought to have originated around the 1850s. It’s generally viewed as a negative sentiment, however, many tattoo collectors have embraced the phrase.
Crying and cry baby tattoos are incredibly prevalent in the industry. Not only do these tattoos represent the acceptance of being emotional or sensitive, they make incredibly compelling images. In fact, crying has been expressed by artists for centuries, particularly in the context of religious art.
In honor of all the self-proclaimed cry babies out there, take a peek at some of our favorite cry baby tattoos from talented tattoo artists around the world in the gallery below. Then let us know if you’re a proud cry baby in the comments section on social media.
