50 Personal Handwriting Tattoos
Would you get a tattoo in someone's handwriting?
For centuries, we’ve used tattoos to tell our stories. For example, the Māori people have used tattooing as a rite of passage. And sailors in World War II began getting tattooed to showcase their accomplishments abroad. Today, the same can still be said and each individual collector approaches tattoo expression in their own, unique way.
One of the most popular forms of tattoo expression is script or lettering, with popular fonts being Old English, Typewriter and good ol’ Comic Sans. However, many collectors choose to go down a more personal route, by getting a tattoo written in a loved one’s handwriting. Handwriting tattoos can be exceptionally personal, especially for those who wear the words of someone no longer living.
For those who’re interested in handwriting tattoos, there are many artists out there who specialize in it. Typically, the artist will have you bring in a piece of paper with the word or phrase written out by the person’s handwriting you’d like them to tattoo. But, this isn’t always possible. In that case, you can also bring in a piece of paper in their handwriting, which an artist can piece together to form the tattoo. Of course, every artist has their own approach and their preferred process may vary.
