What’s the story behind your first tattoo?
The compass on my left shoulder blade. It reads, “Not all who wander are lost” and it has a lot of meaning to me. But I got it when I was 17, so I put it in that specific spot so I could hide it from my grandma.
What’s your favorite tattoo?
Definitely my angel wing. It symbolizes the pride I have coming from a Puerto Rican background and the name Angel runs in my family. I think the wing makes such a cool shoulder piece and it was also free-handed, so it gives it even more character. I know no other wing is exactly like mine.
What’s your most meaningful tattoo?
The candle on my wrist. I got it after going through a really rough point in my life and I had finally won the battle with some of my demons. The candle is a promise I made to myself to stay strong and always take care of my mental state because I Matter.
What’s your most recent tattoo?
The broken clock on the back of my forearm. I live in North Carolina and I actually drove 7 hours to Maryland so Jake Karamol could do it.
Which tattoo has a funny or interesting story?
I have a matching tattoo with someone I’m no longer friends with. Mine reads, “You see all my dark,” because that girl was literally the yin to my yang. We actually lived together and we were inseparable for years, but one day, we got in a huge fight that ended our entire friendship. Two days later I packed up all my stuff and moved to the States. I won’t ever get it covered though, it was a good time in my life, so this tattoo is just part of the collection now.

Tattoo enthusiasts often claim addiction, but true addiction involves chemical and psychological dependence. Obsessive love for tattoos is not the same as addiction.
