Kehlani Debuts Throat Tattoo
Take a look at Kehlani's new ink and the ink she gave her tattoo artist
During quarantine, most people were unable to get tattooed unless they had an artist visit their home. Now that things are opening back up, tattoo enthusiasts are finally able to visit a shop again for some fresh art. Over the last few weeks, we’ve seen many celebrities get back to collecting tattoos—from Travis Scott to Orlando Bloom to Travis Barker to Chris Rock. Now, even our own cover girl, Kehlani, has grabbed a new piece.
Just days after we debuted our newest cover featuring Kehlani, the R&B singer showed off a brand new throat tattoo. Prior to this piece, Kehlani already had work on her neck, including some clouds on the left side, an Om symbol in the center and script on the right side. Now, she’s filled in the gaps with soft black-and-grey flowers.
Kehlani sought out celebrity tattoo artist Nene of Cultural Image Tattoo for her new piece. In the past, Nene has inked a number of stars, including Ty Dolla $ign, YG, G Eazy, Lil Pump and Smoke Purpp. And like many who frequently ink celebs, Nene takes home a piece of his own by allowing some of his famous clients to give him tattoos. In addition to giving Kehlani a new piece, Nene also accepted one from her, offering up some open space on his leg for some lettering and a doodle.
What do you think of Kehlani’s new ink? Would you let someone who’s not a trained tattoo artist give you a permanent design? Let us know your thoughts on this story in the comments section on social media.

Hooked on Ink
Tattoo enthusiasts often claim addiction, but true addiction involves chemical and psychological dependence. Obsessive love for tattoos is not the same as addiction.
