Tribal 2.0
Would you get a modern tribal tattoo?
Tribal was huge during the 1990s and early 2000s, so huge that you saw it worn by some of Hollywood’s biggest stars. Everyone from The Rock to Jamie Foxx to Mike Tyson rocked tribal, meaning that millions of regular collectors followed suit.
Somewhere along the way, tribal fell out of style and became a running joke in popular culture. However, we think a comeback is on it’s way.
Modern tribal, also known as neotribal or contemporary tribal, is on the rise and headed to a tattoo shop near you. We’ve seen countless tattooers put their spin on the iconic style and it’s evolved into something brand new. From fine-line techniques to the addition of our favorite cartoon characters, there’s no limit to what can be done with tribal 2.0. And if you don’t believe this is going to come back, just wait a few years. Then we’ll be able to tell you, “I told you so.” Trust us, there’s no stopping it and you better get on board. Take a peek at some of our favorite examples of modern tribal in the gallery below, then let us know if you’d get one of these tattoos in the comments section on social media.
