Paris Jackson Got an Inspiring Neck Tattoo During COVID-19
Check out the 21-year-old's brand new ink
Paris Jackson, daughter of the late Michael Jackson, is a model, musician and artist with a passionate love for tattoos. The 21-year-old has shown her love for body art by getting 50+ tattoos over the years, including colorful chakras down her sternum, several homages to her famous father and many dedications to her favorite artists. And as no stranger to visible ink, it was only a matter of time before Jackson took the plunge and got a neck tattoo.
Well, that day is here. On March 19th, Jackson revealed a brand new neck tattoo on her Instagram. The tattoo is a quote from J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Lord of the Rings,” which reads “a light from the shadows [shall spring]” in Elvish. In the film, “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring” this line comes from a larger poem written by Bilbo Baggins, the titular character of “The Hobbit,” who’s played by English actor Ian Holm. The full quote reads “From the ashes a fire shall be woken,A light from the shadows shall spring;Renewed shall be blade that was broken,The crownless again shall be king,” and in the story, Bilbo tells Frodo that he wrote this after discovering Aragorn’s true identity.
This quote has come to symbolize overcoming adversity, which is timely considering the current state of the world. Jackson has already been vocal about her thoughts on COVID-19, urging her followers to practice social distancing. The tattoo was inked at Tattoo Mania, just before many states have closed their tattoo shops.
Jackson has visited Tattoo Mania for new ink in the past and will likely return to the shop again, once COVID-19 is stopped. What do you think of her new tattoo? Let us know your thoughts on social media.
