Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine Savagely Beaten in Attack
The rapper was attacked by multiple men at a Florida gym
The controversial rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine was ambushed and beaten at a gym in South Florida on Wednesday morning. The rapper, born Daniel Hernandez, was in the sauna when a group of men attacked him, according to NBC News.
Lance Lazzaro, 6ix9ine’s lawyer, issued a statement regarding the attack. “He had cuts to his face and bruises. Employees heard the disturbance and the perpetrators fled,” the statement reads. “Police in South Florida were called and he was transported via ambulance to a local hospital.”
TMZ obtained footage of the attack, showing at least two men hitting and kicking the rapper as he lays on the floor and attempts to protect his face. It also shows a bloodied 6ix9ine staggering away in the aftermath of the skirmish. The footage is relatively graphic, so click the link with care.
Ever since 6ix9ine left federal custody in April 2020 there has been speculation that he would face repercussions for the plea deal that involved him testifying against his fellow Nine Trey gang members. After pleading guilty to nine charges including racketeering and drug trafficking, 6ix9ine was sentenced to only two years of prison, eventually being released after roughly 13 months. As of press time there is no evidence that Wednesday’s attack was connected to the case, but more will be learned in the coming days.
It is not known if 6ix9ine has been released from the hospital.
