Reddit Roasts Man Who Got Huge JUUL Tattoo Above His Crotch
What Do You Think of This Enormous Homage to Vape Culture?
Over the past several years, vaping has developed into a multi-billion dollar industry, but the rise of vape culture has sparked a number of controversies. Publicized as a way for adults to stop smoking cigarettes, it has instead been colonized by an unexpected demographic: young people who weren’t addicted to cigarettes. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has investigated the current fixation on vaping among teens. And although there are many popular e-cigarette companies on the market, the brand most commonly associated with Gen Z vape culture is JUUL Labs.
The JUUL pen uses nicotine salts and requires the purchase of the JUUL brand pods, unlike most other brands which can be refilled manually. Since its release in 2015, the brand has been promoted by a number of social media marketers. These influencers have contributed to JUUL’s hype within the vape scene, elevating the company to cult status. And with every popular phenomenon that hits the millennial and now Gen Z generations, it’s only a matter of time before we see the trend reflected in tattoos.
It’s no surprise that many avid JUUL users have shown their appreciation for the e-cigarette brand through permanent body art and we were made aware of one man’s tattoo through a viral Reddit thread. Posted under the subreddit, r/trashy, it shows an epic declaration of appreciation for JUUL via a large crotch tattoo.
The comments section of the photo is rife with clever jabs at the questionable design, with one user calling it “The equivalent of a tramp stamp.” Others tried to make the best out of the tattoo collectors situation, noting that the symmetrical design will make it easier for a good artist to cover it up.
While this JUUL tattoo has received an impressive amount of individual attention, let it be known that it’s not alone. There are dozens of JUUL-inspired designs floating around the internet and we can only imagine what they collectors were thinking when they asked for a permanent advertisement of this e-cigarette. Take a look at just a few of the designs below.
