Tattoos of Skeletons Having Fun
These skeletons aren't going to let a little thing like death stop them from having a good time.
Remember that really old Disney cartoon with the skeletons? They’re all dancing around the graveyard, having a nice old time. They even start playing the xylophone using one of the skeletons’ rib cage/spine. It’s amazing. Don’t just take my word for it, give it a quick watch.
I’m the kind of person that believes that Halloween should be celebrated all year long, so it’s hard to understate how influential this cartoon was on the development of my personality. Honestly, there has been some version of this cartoon playing in my head for as long as I can remember. Sometimes the music is a little different—on occasion the music ends up being really heavy—but usually, it’s the same. The activities done by the skeletons, on the other hand, are always changing.
There’s something about skeletons doing stuff that cracks me up. While I get a laugh out of skeletons doing scary things, it’s when they’re doing the mundane that really tickles my funny bone (groan). Drinking coffee? Funny. Doing dishes? Hilarious. Going skateboarding while drinking a beer? Hell yes!
The tattoos in the gallery below are a delightful combination of the macabre and the lighthearted. While the phrase “Memento Mori” is a popular tattoo choice as a way to remind people their time on this world is limited, these tattoos poke fun at the seriousness in those pieces by showing the next world as a delightful place.
Life is serious enough, especially these days. To think of the hereafter as a place where we get to frolic with our fellow dead is a little bit of comfort, and a hell of a lot of fun to imagine.
So, yeah, we’re all going to die. But maybe we’ll have a little fun once we’re there, right?
