Does your milkshake bring all the boys to the yard?

On a hot summer day, there’s nothing better than a sweet and cold treat. Some of our favorites to choose from are milkshakes and sundaes. Some may confuse the two; however, they are in fact two distinctive desserts. Sundaes consist of multiple scoops of ice cream topped with sauce, syrup, sprinkles, whipped cream, marshmallows, nuts, maraschino cherries and/or bananas. Milkshakes, on the other hand, are made by blending together ice cream, milk, and a variety of sauces. Whether you prefer indulging in a classic milkshake or decorating your sundae with sundae and milkshake tattoos, both are perfect for cooling down on a hot day.

Both sundaes and milkshakes are mainstays of popular culture. They became synonymous with American diner culture and can frequently be seen in a variety of films or television shows. In fact, we’ve probably all wanted to recreate sharing a milkshake with two straws on a hot date. And not only have milkshakes and sundaes been shown on screen, they’ve also made their way to the airwaves. For example, one of our favorite songs of the early 2000s is “Milkshake” by Kelis, which includes the famous line “My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard.”
