Every Superhero Movie Coming to Theaters in 2020 Illustrated in Ink

2019 was a huge year for superhero films, bringing audiences Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: Far From Home, X-Men: Dark Phoenix and Joker. 2020 will be another big year for Marvel and DC, despite not having a single Avengers film on the roster. Women, both heroes and villains, will shine in 2020, with performances by Margot Robbie, Maisie Williams, Gal Gadot, Scarlett Johannson and Angelina Jolie. Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)
On February 7th, Harley Quinn gets her first feature film in this Suicide Squad spin-off based on the iconic Birds of Prey comic series. This is the eighth film in the DC Extended Universe, following 2018’s Aquaman and 2019’s Shazam!
The New Mutants
On April 3rd, Marvel goes horror with The New Mutants, the thirteenth installment in the X-Men film series. The film features Game of Thrones‘ Maisie Williams, as well as Split‘s Anya Taylor-Joy and Stranger Things‘ Charlie Heaton.
Black Widow
After years of appearing in the Iron Man, Captain America and Avengers films, Black Widow finally has her own feature film, coming to theaters on May 1st. In the film, we get to known Scarlett Johansson’s character’s origin story and actresses Florence Pugh and Rachel Weisz is introduced to the MCU.
Wonder Woman 1984
Following the success of 2017’s Wonder Woman, Diana Prince is back on the big screen on June 5th. As the title would suggest, the film takes place in 1984 and features performances by Gal Gadot, Kristen Wiig and Chris Pine.
Venom 2
On October 2nd, 2018’s Venom gets a sequel. Actor Tom Hardy will reprise his role as the titular character and introduces actress Naomie Harris as supervillain Shriek.
The Eternals
To round out 2020, The Eternals hits theaters on November 6th and it’s bringing in Hollywood A-listers Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek, as well as fan favorites Kit Harrington and Kumail Nanjiani.
In 2021, expect to see Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, The Batman, a Spider-Man sequel, The Suicide Squad, Thor: Love and Thunder and Black Adam.
