Tattoos From Your Favorite Holiday Movies
We all have Christmas movies, whether good or bad, that have a special place in our hearts
Christmas movies have snuck their way into your viewing pleasure every season whether you’ve sought them out or not. You may remember them playing in the background on Christmas morning while violently tearing apart presents, watching them on the roll-in TV the last week of school before winter break, or seeing snippets of them on the screen through the party crowd before blacking out. While many of these films might be pretty cheesy, they successfully strike a perfect balance of being so bad they’re good, cementing themselves as timeless holiday classics.
Though many Christmas movies are universally loved, some we have to defend with our lives when brought up in conversation. For me, that’s “The Polar Express.” I completely understand why people think this movie is an excruciating watch, but it personally brings back memories of eating pizza and cookies in my 5th grade classroom during our Christmas party, dying of laughter at the annoying nerdy kid and fantasizing about what it’d be like to go down the freakishly huge slide in Santa’s toy factory. Honestly, not a lot of other Christmas movies have as special of a place in my heart.
Other than that, the most obvious choices to throw on around this time of year are “Home Alone,” “Elf” and “It’s a Wonderful Life,” among others. But what really qualifies as a Christmas movie? Lots of people would count movies that simply take place during Christmas or incorporate it into part of the plot, like “Batman Returns” or “Die Hard.” I’d consider “Perks of Being a Wallflower” to be one of those for me. Many of the scenes take place during Christmas and generally elicit a cozy and nostalgic vibe. Maybe for you, a Christmas movie doesn’t have to be the conventional, family-friendly Hallmark movie either. I promise I won’t judge you for throwing on “Krampus” come the 25th.
Regardless of what your Christmas movie of choice is, there’s definitely one you trust to get you into the festive spirit as soon as you put it on. In honor of these tried and true comfort movies that make you cringe and cry in the best way possible, here are a bunch of tattoos inspired by our favorite holiday movies. Happy watching!
