The United Kingdom was already in a transitional period due to Boris Johnson stepping down as Prime Minister, with the queen’s last public appearance taking place on Tuesday as she swore in Liz Truss as Prime Minister. Prince Charles will succeed his mother and become king.
Queen Elizabeth II presided over one of the most peaceful periods the United Kingdom has had, which is likely much of the reason she has become one of the most beloved monarchs in the nation’s history. You’ll be hard-pressed to find people in the United Kingdom who actually remember the reign of her predecessor George VI.
A lot of people have gotten tattoos of Queen Elizabeth II over the years, so let’s check out some of them in honor of her passing.
