Which Super Bowl Team’s Fans Have the Best Tattoos?
You don't have to wait until Sunday to see the Eagles and Chiefs mix it up against each other
The bye week in between the championship games and the Super Bowl is the absolute worst time of the year for a sports fan. What are we expected to do with all of the spare hours? Be productive? No, thank you.
Instead, I’m going to fall into the same routine I do every other year and spend an entire 14 days getting myself riled up and ready to go for Sunday’s game. This means I’m going to be doing insanely deep research on my prop bets. Yeah, I watched the last 10 performances of “The Star Spangled Banner” in order to completely nail it when I put a couple hundred on Chris Stapleton delivering all that tear-inducing patriotism in just under 2:05. But that’s only fun for so long. So why not go back to that primal desire that makes us sports fans in the first place—competition.
And more specifically, arguing about things. Which led me to wonder, which fan base has better tattoos? Since we don’t have the resources to travel to both Kansas City and Philadelphia to inspect the tattoos of the citizenry—using a conservative estimate that 30% of Americans have tattoos, this means interviewing 625,000 folks—we decided to get more specific and look at only tattoos celebrating the teams.
We were as jubilant as a 300 pound center dancing to celebrate a touchdown when we realized how many amazing Eagles and Chiefs tattoos there are in the world. Now, do I wish it were the Philadelphia Flyers in the Super Bowl instead because of all the insane tattoo Gritty has inspired? Yes, obviously. I’m human. But I never thought I’d see a Mandalorian inspired tattoo featuring Andy Reid, and the joy it has given me cannot be quantified.
Before we find out who the best football team in the land is, it’s time to figure out which team’s fans have the best tattoos. What do you think? Let us know by politely screaming at us on social media. Let’s start with the NFC champions, the Philadelphia Eagles. Then we’ll follow it up with the AFC champions, the Kansas City Chiefs.
