DON’T TELL MOM! Daughter’s X-Rays Reveal Secret Racy Piercings
20-year-old Sydney Allen went to hospital when the piercings she has been keeping secret from her mother were projected onto the screen.
Sydney Allen, from Clearwater, Florida, got two barbell piercings as a birthday gift from her sister. The pair swore to never tell their mother.
Allen said her mom is “a bit conservative on appearances and hates tattoos and piercings.”
The two barbells are through Allen’s nipples. Allen said that since she usually has her shirt on, she thought it would be a very easy secret to keep.
Allen has syringomyelia, a rare condition that can build up spinal fluid in the spinal cord. A procedural X-ray of her spine is common for her routine checkups.
However this was the first X-ray with her piercing.
Allen obviously did not know that all metals are visible in X-ray image results, so she invited her mom into the appointment.
The doctor pulled up the results, which flashed the two barbell ring piercings to the horrified mother.
“My mom saw my piercings as soon as the X-ray popped up and the doctor and I started laughing hysterically,” Allen said.
She said her mom grew silent staring at the extremely clear metal rods projected on the computer screen, and then told her, “We will discuss this later.”
Allen said that her mother was “visibly upset.” However, her mom has reportedly warmed up to the piercings. But only because they are hidden from the world.
“I was initially terrified when the X-ray came up, but she ended up being pretty understanding since no one can tell unless I show them,” she said.
However, the 20-year-old had taken the story to social media, where the proof is not-so-hidden any longer.
Allen tweeted the photo of her X-ray, and captioned it with: “My mom found out I got my nipples pierced today”.
The post has since been shared over 40,000 times and had hundreds of commenters who found the X-ray incident to be just as hilarious as Allen and her doctor did.
Several people sympathized, tweeting at Sydney saying, “this is my worst fear.” Others have said X-rays have revealed their secret piercings to their family too.
Thankfully, Allen’s mom laughs at the picture now.
