Ariana Grande Reveals “Fixed” Palm Tattoo Following Instagram Mockery

Throughout 2018 and into the New Year, singer Ariana Grande continuously captured the attention of social media for her brand new tattoos. Just two weeks ago, Grande shocked her fans by sporting a large and beautiful tattoo of Eevee, one of the original Pokémon characters. Then, she did it again on January 29th by showing off a fresh palm tattoo.

However, fans were quick to point out the mistranslation in Grande’s tattoo. The tattoo was meant to read “seven rings,” after the second single from Grande’s upcoming studio album. But instead, Instagram and Twitter users pointed out that the tattoo actually translated to “BBQ grill.”

Grande and her artist, Kane Navasard of Los Angeles, were quick to both remove their posts from social media. However, last night Grande posted an update to her story featuring a conversation with her Japanese tutor Ayumi. 

After working things out with her tutor and her artist, Grande then updated her fans with a proposal to fix the design with more kanji.

Then later, Grande showed off the improvements she’d made to the design and even revealed that she’d gotten lidocaine from a doctor to help with the pain. But here’s the big question: did Grande actually fix the mistranslated tattoo?

As it turns out, the design still doesn’t translate to “seven rings,” and instead reads “Japanese BBQ finger.” We’ll see if she continues adding to the design, covers it up later on or says ‘Thank U, Next’ to the tattoo all together with the help of laser removal.
