For Demi’s first tattoo of 2022, they bit the bullet and opted for a huge spider on the side of their skull. The piece was inked by Los Angeles’ Dr. Woo over the weekend, who’s one of Demi’s go-to tattoo artists. In the past, Woo has crafted many of Demi’s most iconic tattoos, including the portrait of her grandmother, a tribute to her dog and the lyrics to “Infinite Universe” by Beautiful Chorus.

The new piece is a realistic black-and-grey spider on the right side of Demi’s head. The spider, as revealed by Demi on Instagram, is a Grandmother Spider. In a story posted to Demi’s Instagram, they share the folklore of the Grandmother spider, which is told throughout various Native American cultures—particularly in Hopi Mythology.
