75 Badass Betty Boop Tattoos
"Boop-Oop-a-Doop!"
Before there was Jessica Rabbit or Holli Would, Betty Boop was the OG animated vixen. Betty Boop was created by animator Max Fleischer in 1930 with the help of Grim Natwick. Boop first appeared in the Talkartoon series in an episode entitled “Dizzy Dishes.” Boop was originally animated as a French poodle, but then was created as a flapper girl by 1932 in the cartoon “Any Rags.” She was greatly inspired by singer and actress Helen Kane, who sued Fleischer over Boop’s now iconic “Boop Oop a Doop” line. Boop also takes inspiration from film star Clara Bow. Boop was originally voiced by Margie Hines, however, actress Mae Questel took over the role in 1931. Questel voiced the character until 1938 and then reprised the role 50 years later in 1988’s “Who Framed Roger Rabbit.” Today, Boop is officially voiced by actresses Sandy Fox and Cindy Robinson. Currently, a Betty Boop musicial is in the works, however an official release date has yet to be announced.
Today, Boop is regarded as one of the most prolific cartoon characters of all time. She’s starred in a whopping 90 short films and two television movies in her 90+ years in the spotlight. Take a peek at 75 of our favorite Betty Boop tattoos created by talented tattooers around the world. Then let us know your favorite tattoo from this list in the comments section on social media. Now without further adieu, Boop-Oop-a-Doop!
