In video games, many of the most popular and well-known characters of all time have been dudes. However, over the years many notable female characters have been introduced to the gaming world. These characters have assumed many roles over time, from the cliché damsel in distress to badass fighters to seductive antagonists. And as more women get into gaming, more and more female characters with diverse abilities and backstories continue to flood the market.
