If ever something as inanimate as a cell phone could be become a “living, breathing” cult leader, then it would have to be the iPhone. People wait on line for days, beg, borrow, steal and in some cases even kill to get their nimble thumbs on the latest generation of the 6.7 ounce monster.

The first generation iPhone was released on June 29, 2007, in the United States, where thousands of people were reported to have waited outside Apple and AT&T retail stores days before the device’s launch; many stores reported stock shortages within an hour of availability. Stores were forced to hire off-duty police officers to guard stores overnight.

That’s should have been a warning to humanity. Well, it wasn’t and welcome to the 8th generation…and to the people who get everything apple tattooed on their skin!
