45 Creepy Cute ‘Gremlins’ Tattoos

Are you feeling like Gizmo or Stripe today?

In 1984, audiences were introduced to the horror comedy film “Gremlins,” which was written by Chris Columbus who’d go on to direct classics such as 1987’s “Adventures in Babysitting,” 1990’s “Home Alone” and 1993’s “Mrs. Doubtfire.” “Gremlins” follows a father who goes to Chinatown looking for a Christmas present for his son, Billy, only to come across a tiny creature called a Mogwai. He’s sold the creature and given three strict rules, which include: don’t expose the mogwai to light, don’t get the mogwai wet and never feed it after midnight. Upon returning home, the father gifts the mogwai to his son, whom he names Gizmo.

However, it doesn’t take long for one of the rules to be broken as water is spilled onto Gizmo, causing him to multiply five times. One of the mogwai that comes of this is named Stripe, for the white patch of fur on his head, and he quickly becomes the trouble making ringleader of the mogwais. Eventually, the mogwais convince Billy to feed them after midnight, causing them to transform into reptilian creatures known as gremlins.

“Gremlins” was a commercial success at the box office, earning $212.9 million. Today, over 35 years later, the film is still a cult classic and is enjoyed by fans every year on Christmas. In honor of “Gremlins'” legacy, take a look at 45 of our favorite tattoos inspired by this film. Then let us know your favorite “Gremlins” moment in the comments section on social media.
