See NBA Star Markelle Fultz’s ‘Black Panther’ Tattoo
The Orlando Magic guard paid tribute to Chadwick Boseman with his black-and-grey piece.
Markelle Fultz, a guard for the Orlando Magic, recently took some time away from the court to get a beautiful tattoo tribute to Chadwick Boseman. It all seems fitting since tattoos are forever, just like Wakanda.
For the art, Fultz turned to Orlando tattoo artist Roly T-Rex, who you probably know from Season 10 of “Ink Master.” Roly created a striking black-and-grey portrait of T’Challa with his arms crossed in the Wakanda salute, surrounded by lightning bolts.
In an interview with TMZ, Roly explained that the design was inspired by a combination of events during a turbulent summer, including the death of Boseman and the ongoing Black Lives Matter movement. As he explains, this struck a chord with Fultz who was “ecstatic” about the tattoo.
Fultz and Roly are planning on adding some more details around the tattoo in the future, so we look forward to seeing what they come up with.
