Archie Comics Tattoos for ‘Riverdale’ Fans
Are you caught up on "Riverdale?"
“Riverdale” has been one of the most watched teen shows since its premiere in 2017. But did you know this series is actually based on a comic book series that was first created in 1941? That’s right, almost 80 years ago, publisher John L. Goldwater, artist Bob Montana and writer Vic Bloom created the main characters of the Archie Comics.
These comics are set in the fictional town of Riverdale and center on Archie Andrews, a high schooler who’s focus in on playing sports, dating and hanging out with his best friend Jughead Jones. Jughead is known for being Archie’s childhood friend, who has a snarky attitude and loves to eat. Throughout the comics, Archie is in a love triangle between Betty Cooper and Veronica Lodge. Betty is your quintessential girl next door and is known for being intelligent, kind and down to earth. Her foil is the glamorous Veronica, who’s the wealthiest girl in town but a compassionate and generous girlfriend.
Riverdale shares a universe with other comic book characters, including Sabrina Spellman and Josie McCoy. Sabrina is known for starring in the “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” comics, as well as a 90’s live-action television series and Netflix’s “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” TV series. Josie is the lead singer of Josie and the Pussycats, which became a spin-off comic, were featured prominently in “Riverdale” and “Katy Keene” and earned a live-action feature film in 2001.
In honor of the ever expanding Archie Comics universe, take a look at some of our favorite tattoos inspired by the classic characters.
