Futurama Tattoos

If you don't like these tattoos of Fry, Bender, Leela and the gang, you can bite my shiny, metal a$$.

It’s been 21 years since “Futurama” debuted and gave viewers got their first taste of New New York in the 31st century. It’s pretty hard to believe it’s been that long. I feel as if I fell backwards in my chair and was cryogenically frozen only to wake up in 2020, with the world falling apart and my favorite TV show no longer on the air. 

At the time of its debut back in 1999, “Futurama” was seen as sort of a spin-off of “The Simpsons” since it was created by Matt Groening. While the animation and humor are similar, New New York was worlds away from Springfield. Each week the Planet Express crew took part in a different adventure, each seemingly more outlandish than the last. 

During its initial run, “Futurama” was only on the air for four seasons. While the general public didn’t quite connect with the sci-fi themed humor, the show developed a core group of hardcore fans. Much like with “Family Guy,” the show took off in syndication and eventually got a resurgence when it came back on the air for three more seasons. 

One of the great things about fandom, especially within the sci-fi/cartoon crowd, is the ingenuity you’ll see in tattoos. In this gallery you’ll find more than just tattoos of the main characters, you’ll find tattoos of characters that appeared only one time in the 140 episode history. And even though these pictures may make you want to chow down on some popplers, we highly recommend that you show some restraint. You don’t want to be visited by a bunch of angry moms from Omicron Persei 8. And if you know what I’m talking about here, then you’re going to love this gallery of “Futurama” tattoos.
