20 Undead Tattoos

These zombie tattoos are spooky, sinister and sensational

Zombies first came into existence (fictionally, of course) through Haitian folklore and were reanimated through voodoo. But, today’s modern zombie emerged during the middle of the 20th century, through the renowned and celebrated horror film “Night of the Living Dead.”

This 1968 film was written and directed by George A. Romero, showcasing zombies as terrifying cannibalistic corpses. Romero went on the create a number of other iconic zombie films over the next several decades, including “Dawn of the Dead” and “Day of the Dead.”

Romero’s films, along with many others, helped to establish the zombie apocalypse film genre, which includes cult favorites like “28 Days Later,” “Resident Evil,” “Zombieland,” “World War Z,” and television’s “The Walking Dead.”

Many fans of the genre have taken the concept of a zombie apocalypse to heart, creating survival guides for practical use, if such an event were to come about. Back in 2011, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) even published a blog article titled “Preparedness 101: Zombie Apocalypse,” which helped raise public awareness about preparing for natural disasters and pandemics. Which actually might come in handy right about now.

And they adapted so quickly to cannibalism that they actually asked for human meat while they were being saved? What I’m saying is…all children are feral creatures on the brink of succumbing to a man-eating bloodlust at any given moment. Anyways. Give “The Indifferent Stars Above” a read while you’re locked away. It’s a great book.
