AEW’s Cody Rhodes Shows Off New Tattoo

The American Nightmare had his logo inked on to his neck prior to the AEW Revolution event.

Even before his match with MJF took place on Sunday night, Cody Rhodes had stolen all of the headlines at AEW’s Revolution by showing up in the ring with some brand new ink.

Twitter blew up with speculation about whether or not the American Nightmare logo—which was big, bright and bold on the side of Rhodes’ neck—was a legitimate tattoo or if it were just a temporary piece specifically designed for the pay-per-view. It turns out that the ink is 100% real.

I’m humbled by the run I’ve been on and the love of the fans. Incredibly lucky man. It was very simple, I wear a lot of brands…I wanted to make sure mine was one of them. And I wasn’t hiding it. More details on tomorrow’s “Road To Denver”… – thank you @inkanddaggertattoo @craigbrocktattoo for taking the design and making it a reality!

“I’m humbled by the run I’ve been on and the love of the fans,” Rhodes said in an Instagram post. “Incredibly lucky man. The tattoo was done by Craig Brock of Ink and Dagger Tattoo in Roswell, Georgia. The design is tried-and-true American Traditional and looks pretty great to us. The placement seems a bit strange given that Rhodes doesn’t have a whole lot of coverage, thus it’s a pretty big statement to go straight for the neck tattoo, but it looks good. Some people disagree, most notably, Rhodes’ wife.

“I’m the one person that doesn’t like the neck tattoo, I don’t like it,” Brandi Rhodes told Wrestling Inc.. “I’ve said it, there it is.”

Hopefully, Brandi will grow to love the new ink, because, historically, tattoos are somewhat permanent.
