75 Heroic Iron Man Tattoos
Who's your favorite Avenger?
In 2008, the world of film was changed forever when “Iron Man” debuted on the big screen. This was the first film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which would go on to become one of the biggest film franchises of all time. “Iron Man” was directed by Jon Favreau, who also portrays Harold “Happy” Hogan, Tony Stark/Iron Man’s bodyguard throughout the series. Favreau chose Robert Downey Jr. for the role after seeing his performance in 2005’s “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang” and the role revitalized Downey Jr.’s career after a period of substance abuse and legal issues.
Tony Stark became one of the most celebrated characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, largely thanks to Downey Jr.’s performance. He’s recognized for being the former chief weapons manufacturer for the U.S. military, Stark Industries, but later uses his technology to create mechanized suits and becomes Iron Man. He’s appeared in eleven films in the MCU, including two sequel solo films “Iron Man 2” (2010) and “Iron Man 3” (2013), as well as four “Avengers” films. His last film appearance was in 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame,” however alternate versions of Stark appear in the 2021 animated anthology series “What If…?” on Disney+.
