Today’s tattoo of the day is this beautiful piece by Carl Grace. Grace is best known for his black and grey realism work and has become an iconic figure in the industry over the last few years. Whether his tattoos appear on small, confined areas of the body, like the hand, or large canvases, like an entire back, each piece will be individually packed with detail and high quality applications making it last for years to come. Today’s pick features one of Grace’s smaller pieces, an octopus inked on someone’s hand. As the octopus is one of the few creatures in the world who actually can produce ink on its own, it is no surprise that this eight-legged creature has become such a common image in modern day tattoos. While Grace’s octopus only gives the viewer a three-quarter view, the remaining five legs are well implied and the shape and proportions of this little guy are spot on. He even seems to have a sly expression rendered in his eyes brought together through Grace’s impeccable use of shading and white highlighting.
