Tinier Tattoos Than Ever
Micro tattoos have been on the trending lists for years and 2019 will be no different. However, in order to set themselves apart from the pack, artists will be working to make their designs tinier than ever before. Just take a look at this phenomenal piece by Romeo Lacoste, who created a sensational portrait of Disney’s Peter Pan that’s roughly the size of a dime.
Intergalactic Inspiration
Okay, we know that galaxy ink is nothing new but here us out on this one. Over the years, artists from around the world have finessed and polished galaxy motifs–making 2019 the year that we will see our most stunning designs to date. We’ll be placing our bets on artists like Adrian Bascur, Chris Rigoni and Saga Anderson to take galaxy designs to the next level.
Pokémon’s Finest
On May 10th of 2019, Pokémon Detective Pikachu will premiere in theaters and we cannot wait for all of the amazing and insane tattoos to follow this film. From the title character, who is voiced by Ryan Reynolds, to a slew of other CGI Pokémon, we cannot wait for the anime fever to strike next year.
Mixed-Media Madness
Thanks to ground breaking artists like Dave Paulo, Daria Pirojenko and Yogi Barrett, mixed media tattoos are one of the hottest trends of the past several years. These tattoo incorporate multiple design elements and blend diverse tattoo styles to create 100% unique works of art. Get yourself ready for all of the new mixed-media tattoos that will br cropping up in 2019.
All That Glitters IS Gold
West Virginian tattooer Jake Gordon has mastered the gold effect in his tattoos and you best believe that gold will be a prominent part of 2019. We’re totally amazed by the pop and glamour of his pieces, therefore we’d love to see other artists give gold tattoos a try in the next year.
Ultra Violet Insanity
While ultraviolet tattooing has been around for several years, over the past few months it has definitely gained a new following. These glowing and gorgeous tattoos may be better off for a photo than hold up IRL, but in the age of social media, a picture is worth a thousand likes.
Graphic and Gorgeous
Similar to the mixed-media tattoos that shined in 2018, we began seeing graffiti being incorporated into designs like never before. Russian artist Mashkow has created a seductive brand of graffiti inspired designs, which mix the style of the streets with stunning realism portraits. We cannot wait to see how other artists from around the world incorporate graffiti into their designs.
Disney 2.0
In 2019, there will be tons of new Disney films released in both animation and live action, including The Lion King, Frozen 2, Aladdin and Dumbo. This means that shops around the world will be seeing a demand for more Disney inspired designs. However, in order to make this a new trend for 2019, we challenge both artists and clients to put a fresh spin on their favorite characters and films. Make your Disney tattoo your own instead of opting for a design that has been replicated a hundred times before.
Sensational Stickers
Last, but not least, sticker tattoos knocked the socks off the tattoo industry in 2018. Thanks to artists like Sergey Shanko, many tattooers from around the world have elevated their designs by making them look like three-dimensional stickers. We cannot wait to see all of the incredible and breath taking sticker tattoos to come in 2019.
