Kristen Stewart’s New Tattoo is Her Motto for Life

Kristen Stewart has a few random tattoos scattered across her arms, but it’s her latest piece—the phrase “one more time with feeling” inked on her forearm—that really represents the actress’ outlook on life. Stewart showed off her arm tattoo during a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, explaining that while “one more time with feeling” is something directors typically say to actors, the idea of trying again, and trying harder, is a sentiment that we can all relate to, even if we’re not in show business.
Inked vertically on the inside of her left forearm, Stewart’s tattoo was done in black capital letters by French tattoo artist Robin Raby earlier this year, and while she seemed hesitant to show the ink to Jimmy Fallon, the Twilight actress eventually opened up about the meaning behind the tattoo. According to the actress, given her career path, the phrase “one more time with feeling” makes sense, “because it’s like a classic thing that directors say to actors. But then, in addition to that, it’s like, you can always try again with anything you do.”
An A-list actress who tends to shy away from fame, Stewart has been enjoying a much-needed break from Hollywood recently, and has made the most of her time off, not just by getting a new tattoo, but by changing up her hairstyle…on her own terms, for once. “For the first time ever, I changed my hair for not a role, because I had a little bit of time off,” she told Jimmy Fallon during last week’s interview. “And I was like, ‘I’m going to scrape my knees and possibly get a bunch more tattoos and like, shave my head,’ and I settled on lesser forms of all of that.”
Stewart has gone under the needle several other times over the years, getting a tattoo of four lines on the side of her wrist, a couple of arrows on the back of her arm, a number 8 (or maybe it’s a sideways infinity symbol) on the palm of her hand, and an arm tattoo inspired by her role in the filmClouds of Sils Maria. This latest ink, however, seems like it might be her most meaningful, or at least one that she can relate to on both a personal and professional level. As Kristen said during the Tonight Show interview, “one more time with feeling” is a phrase she loves “for everything.”
The “one more time with feeling” piece on Kristen’s arm marks tattoo number five for the 26-year-old, who is well on her way to following in the footsteps of her mother and other family members, who, she says, are “really tatted.” We have a feeling we’ll be seeing plenty more Kristen Stewart tattoos in the future!
