While we’re all still recovering from Tom DeLonge’s messy departure from Blink-182, the guitarist released exciting news regarding his own music. DeLonge is set to share his new album, To the Stars… Demos, Odds and Ends on April 21. He made good use of his social media accounts (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook) to tell fans what to expect, “New stuff, old stuff, all personal stuff – MY stuff.” His LP is available for preorder on tomdelonge.me, and gives fans the option to listen the old fashioned way – CD and vinyl. Of course, exclusive bundles stocked with artwork and t-shirts are for presale, too.
Yesterday, DeLonge tweeted a teaser video that features clips from four tracks off of the anticipated album. The full track list is expected to be released just before St. Paddy’s day, March 16th. Those who preorder To the Stars get access to new music on March 9, 23 and April 6.
The musician also wears the hat of a novelist, as his first book, Poet Anderson, is in the works. Last week, a very excited DeLonge shared a very unedited manuscript on Twitter, “POET ANDERSON #TheNovel IS NOW FINISHED!!!! CO-WRITTEN BY MYSELF AND THE AMAZING SUZANNE YOUNG… FUCK IM EXCITED #MAY.” The novel is based off of the short film DeLonge co-directed of the same name. It’s hard to tell when more from the novel will be unveiled; we’re guessing May or June. Clearly DeLonge has wasted no time jump-starting his solo career and we’re looking forward to hearing the new music.
