Hang Out With Miley Cyrus & She May Make You Get a Tattoo

If there’s one thing Miley Cyrus loves more than getting tattooed, it may be making other people get inked, especially if she can somehow involve Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne in the equation. There have been plenty of situations where Miley and Wayne, close friends by anyone’s standards, have gotten weird matching tattoos, and dragged other people into the mix as well, but the story professional snowboarder Shaun White told on Good Day L.A. this week about the Wayne Coyne-inspired arm tattoo Miley Cyrus made him get really takes the cake.
According to Shaun White, who sat down for an interview with Good Day L.A. on February 15, he was at Miley Cyrus’ house for an Easter party—which is already kind of weird—when the singer convinced him to get a tattoo of Wayne Coyne… inside a bubble. How that translated into the tattoo Shaun has on the outside of his right arm, we aren’t entirely sure, because the tattoo design features a circle with two lines on either side, and a small black image inside the circle. Whether the figure inside the circle (or bubble) is actually meant to be Wayne Coyne is something only Shaun, Miley and Wayne may know.
Shaun White isn’t the only person Cyrus has talked into getting a potentially regrettable tattoo at one of her crazy holiday house parties. During an especially strange Fourth of July party in 2014, Miley decided to get a large tattoo on her side commemorating her late dog Floyd, an Alaskan Kee Kai who was killed by a coyote earlier that year. Miley wasn’t prepared to go under the needle by herself though; she managed to convince Coyne and his girlfriend Katy Weaver to get matching Floyd tribute tattoos. She also has a tattoo of Coyne’s “Love Yer Brain” track, and a robot tattoo inspired by the Flaming Lips’ 2002 album Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots.
Fortunately, his Miley Cyrus-inflicted ink isn’t Shaun White’s only tattoo. He’s got several others, the first of which was inspired by a ring he bought at a Native American store in Colorado. According to Shaun, he really liked the symbol on the ring, which stood for clouds and thunder, and was going to paint it on an amp, when his friend talked him into getting it tattooed on his arm instead. So Shaun headed down to the tattoo shop, his dad showed up on his motorcycle, and the rest is history! Shaun White also has a tattoo of a lion and jungle scene on his right shoulder, but there’s no word yet on whether he was talked into getting that tattoo as well.
