We’re Counting Down the Most Outrageous Moments in Ink Master History

Ink Master, a reality television show produced by Spike, puts tattoo artists to test with insane challenges, stiff competition, and tons of drama along the way. Season 9 of the show is currently being aired every Tuesday at 10 pm and last night was one of the most action-packed episodes of the season. From a fainting canvas to a total walk out—this episode set the tone for what is expected to be one of the most dramatic seasons yet. And while we’re still reeling over what happened last night, let’s take a trip down memory lane and look back at some of the other crazy moments this show has given us. During its nine-season run, this show has given audiences plenty of unforgettable action and it was hard to narrow down our favorite moments in one list. However, we created a list of the moments that stand above the rest as the most unbelievable in Ink Master history. Keep on reading to relive the iconic drama.

We could not believe when Mystical Mike of season 3 said that he only brought one tattoo machine to the show. Come on man, you knew what to expect coming in and there are no excuses for being so unprepared.

We could not believe that Kyle Dunbar tried to fight judge Chris Nuñez. A big mistake made by the season 3 and 4 tattooer.

You’ve got to be ready for anything when you sign up for Ink Master, including tattooing canvases in the nude. We can’t imagine what it was like participating in this flash challenge.

During season 5 of Ink Master, the artists were tasked with creating paintings using only pigs blood. Talk about making the most of unconventional materials.

You may not remember the tattoos he did on the show, but there’s no way you forgot his larger than life personality. The self-proclaimed “Tattoo God” made a big impact on audiences with his ego, however, he’s more known for his mouth than his ink.

Season 2’s Jamie Davies made history as the only tattooer to grace the show without a single tattoo. How can you be a tattooer without taking a turn in the client’s chair?

Anytime there is a group tattoo challenge on the show, our hearts go out to the canvases. Even though they sign up for the madness, we cannot imagine getting tattooed by four artists at one time. That’s totally insane.

Way back in season one, we were introduced to the craziest canvas in the series’ history. Tattooer Nick D’Angelo was tasked with inking a new school sacred heart on an extremely difficult canvas, who fought with him throughout the entire process. And while it may have been an artist’s worst nightmare, it definitely made for great TV.

During season 8, the artist’s on Team Nuñez tattooed over scars caused by smoking. Kelly Doty was given a canvas who had a stoma in the middle of his throat and had to work around the hole in order to create a galaxy inspired piece.

We cannot believe that this tattoo was featured on the show, however, on season 4 Roland Pacheco inked this “piece” on a client during a convention challenge. Even Oliver Peck agrees that this is the worst tattoo in the history of the show.

This past season, the artists tattooed both sides of canvases’ head over the course of two days. Twelve hours spent getting your head tattoo squeezed into a 48 hour time period? That’s insane!
