Social media is one of the number one ways to find out about a new tattoo artist or to follow your favorite artists’ work. Tattoos are a visual art form and thanks to Pinterest, Tumblr, and Instagram, the artistic nature of tattoos has blown up in the last few years. Instagram is basically an online portfolio platform for artists and collectors that anyone can have at the tip of their fingertips. However, with all of the good that has come with social media, there have also been some negatives that have arisen, too.

Sullen TV wanted to get the inside scoop from some of the best artists in the industry on their thoughts on the pros and cons of social media. Take a look at this video below as Bernadette Macias interviews some amazing artists to hear what they have to say.

Everyone from Freshly Inked cover artists Megan Jean Morris and Danny Lepore to lettering master BJ Betts and portraiture extraordinaire Poch have opinions on the topic that you need to hear. While Instagram may give artists a bigger presence in the tattoo world, it also can lead to some not so great things, such as stolen designs and misrepresentations of original artwork. So make sure to watch the video below to hear both sides of the debate!
