On February 2nd of 2009, RuPaul’s Drag Race premiered for the very first time. Since making it’s debuted, it has had 9 successful competition seasons as well as 2 bonus all-star seasons. RuPaul Charles, arguably the most famous drag queen in history created the show to bring awareness to the gay community as well as drag culture, proving to the world that drag is a cultural movement we need to be keeping our eyes on. Since the show first premiered, it has not only introduced the mainstream world to drag itself but some fierce and fabulous drag queens as well.
