Louis Tomlinson Shows Off Tattoos in Sweet New ‘Lad and Dad’ Instagram Post

It’s still hard to believe that Louis Tomlinson is a father, but the 24-year-old One Direction singer appears to be embracing his role as doting dad, posting an adorable Instagram photo just last week of himself holding baby son, Freddie, and stroking his face. In the sweet snap, which Louis captioned simply “Lad and Dad,” the pop star is shirtless, which (bonus!) gives us all a good look at his impressive collection of tattoos, ranging from the large stag and heart tattoo on his shoulder to a series of simple and seemingly random pieces inked on his right forearm.

It was just a few weeks ago that Tomlinson first introduced the world Freddie, and the singer apparently intends to keep the photos coming, the most recent being the adorable black and white photo Louis posted to his Instagram account on February 19. Once you take in the sweetness of the father-son duo, it’s hard not to notice Tomlinson’s tattoos, particularly the skull and crossbones tat on his left wrist, the tic-tac-toe and Pacman tattoos on his right forearm, and the large “It is what it is” tattoo scrawled across his chest.

Tomlinson has always been into ink, and the 24-year-old has 35 tattoos and counting, all received over the past four years. The most recent additions being the “given a chance” tattoo located on his left arm, and the number “28” inked on the ring and middle fingers of his left hand. And now that Louis is officially a father, our guess is it’s only a matter of time before the One Direction singer heads to the tattoo studio for some ink dedicated to his little one. Perhaps he’ll go for a simple “Freddie” tattoo inked across his heart, below his current “78” piece, or get his son’s name inked on his neck, David Beckham-style.

The news that Tomlinson and Briana Jungwirth were expecting a child first emerged back in July 2015, and at the time, a source told People magazine, “Louis is happy and very excited about becoming a dad, and he thinks Briana will be an amazing mother. [The pregnancy] was a surprise at first, but he and Briana are very, very close friends and this has brought them even closer.” Freddie was welcomed into the world on January 22, and although Louis and Briana are no longer dating, we have a feeling this little guy is going to have more love surrounding him than he knows what to do with.
