December Inked Man of the Month: InkMonstarr

A creator who turned 700 tattoos into a roadmap of resilience, purpose, and self-expression.

For December, Inked Magazine is proud to feature InkMonstarr as our Man of the Month. Pronounced “Monstarr” with two R’s like a Rolls Royce, InkMonstarr hails from Grand Island, Nebraska, and was raised between Las Vegas, NV, and Hanford, CA. He’s a jack of all trades: recording artist, actor, model, and a living canvas with over 700 tattoos that tell the story of his life.

Finding Freedom in Ink

When asked what drew him to tattoos, InkMonstarr shares, “Tattoos gave me a voice before I even learned how to speak my truth. They brought me joy and gave me light when times were tough and life seemed dark. One day I realized: instead of carrying my story, I can wear it. That moment changed everything.”

His first tattoo—a tribute to his mother with stars on his left hand—was simple but powerful. “The moment I got it, I knew this wasn’t going to be a ‘one and done’ situation,” he says. “I’m beyond grateful for my mother. The influence was from the unconditional love I have for her, so it was only right I showcased it on my skin.”

Tattoos as Personal Declaration

InkMonstarr’s face tattoos hold particular significance. “They weren’t for shock value,” he explains. “Each tattoo represents my beliefs, my support system, and chapters where I bet on myself. They remind me to dream bigger than big.”

Always planning new ink, he adds, “Ink is a lifestyle, not a phase. I’m working on filling in a few open spots on my legs.”

Passions Beyond Ink

Outside of tattoos, InkMonstarr enjoys making music, traveling, storytelling, collecting comics, spending time with family, and fitness. “If I’m not creating, I’m out exploring, soaking in cultures, energy, and inspiration. I’m drawn to anything that feeds my spirit or sharpens my vision,” he shares.

A fun fact? “My first year of college, I used all my financial aid for tattoos instead of books. Don’t worry—I cleared that up! People often see my tattoos and think they know me, but I’m way more spiritual, focused, and intentional than they expect. I meditate, study, and do shadow work. My purpose is bigger than me.”

Being Recognized

When asked what being Inked Man of the Month means to him, InkMonstarr says, “It’s an honor. The 16-year-old version of myself would be thrilled. I didn’t get here by following trends. I got here by being authentically me. Having that recognized is powerful.”

What’s Next

Looking ahead, InkMonstarr is creating a new wave of music and working on collaborations that blend tattoo culture, fashion, and film. “This next era of InkMonstarr is all about leveling up on every front,” he says.
