16 Years Later, ‘Friends’ Lives on Through Tattoos
Take a look at some of our favorite "Friends" tattoos
On September 22nd, 1994 “Friends” premiered on NBC and one of America’s favorite sitcoms was born. For ten seasons, friends Rachel Green (played by Jennifer Aniston), Monica Geller (played by Courtney Cox), Phoebe Buffay (played by Lisa Kudrow), Joey Tribbiani (played by Matt LeBlanc), Chandler Bing (played by Matthew Perry) and Ross Geller (played by David Schwimmer) experience daily shenanigans. Over the course of the show, the characters go through job changes, new relationships, breakups and personal transformations, allowing the audience to feel connected to their journey.
Like many sitcoms of its time, “Friends” is known for its inside jokes and quotable one liners. One of our favorites happened during episode eight of season 5 (“The One with the Thanksgiving Flashbacks”), where Monica puts the Thanksgiving turkey on her head and goes across the hall where Chandler tells her that he loves her for the first time. Another popular reference from “Friends” is “Pivot!” from episode 16 of season 5 (“The One with the Cop). In this episode, Ross gets a new couch and instead of paying for delivery service, he attempts to carry it up the stairs with the help of Rachel and Chandler. During the now iconic scene, the trio meanders around corners with Ross shouting “Pivot!” several times.
If you love these moments from “Friends” and the series as a whole, then you’ll love these tattoos. These tattoos are from talented artists around the globe and true “Friends” lovers will understand each and every reference. Take a peek at these tattoos in the gallery below and let us know your favorite “Friends” moments in the comments section on social media.
