45 Tattoos of the Best Horror Movies of All Time
What's your favorite horror movie?
Horror is one of the most profitable and celebrated film genres of all time. Sure, it’s not snagging up Oscars left and right like some other genres. However, it’s still very much beloved. Some of the first horror movies debuted as silent films during the 1920s and were followed up by the Universal Monsters franchise (“Frankenstein,” “Dracula,” etc.) during the coming decades. For die-hard fans of the genre, horror movies tattoos are a spine-chilling way to pay tribute to their favorite films and iconic characters.
During the 1960s, horror began to transform and then in the 1970s, slashers came into prominence. By the 1980s, horror was in full force, giving rise to some of the most iconic film franchises in history—notably “Friday the 13th” and “A Nightmare on Elm Street”. The momentum continued during the 1990s with films like “Scream” and by the 2000s, a new wave of horror had started with “Saw,” “The Ring” and “Paranormal Activity.” Horror continued to grow and evolve throughout the 2010s with films like “Get Out” and “The Conjuring” and now, in the 2020s, it’s still going strong thanks many of the revival films.
