Immaculate Architecture Tattoos

Architecture-inspired tattoos are both sick geometric pieces and commendations for how far we’ve progressed as a society

Do you ever look at a stunning piece of architecture and wonder, how on earth did we get to this point? That’s how I feel when I see the intricate designs carved into the Milan Cathedral, the mind-bending grooves of Macau’s Morpheus Hotel, or even the golden embellishments on the American Radiator Building in New York City. It’s almost unfathomable that we went from forging shelter out of nature’s rock molds to constructing buildings that appear to defy physics, rightfully becoming some of the most sought-out sights in the world.

The question of when architecture began changes depending on what you consider architecture to be. The need for shelter and protection has existed for as long as humanity has. Since we stopped living in caves during the Neolithic period in 10,000 B.C., we’ve seen outstanding architectural styles emerge in cultures across the world, from ancient Egyptian pyramids to the classical Greek columns that uphold the Parthenon, the concrete arches that comprise the Colosseum or the opulent Baroque style reflected in St. Peter’s Basilica. Right before our eyes, we’ve watched architecture evolve with society itself, constantly adapting to new circumstances and pushing the boundaries of what human design can achieve.

Tattoos of famous pieces of architecture not only pay homage to the advancements of civilization, but the geometric style of said pieces are a sick contrast to the human body. An architecture-inspired tattoo can embody everything from a reverence for human innovation to a tribute to a treasured landmark, or even to symbolize your childhood home that’ll always have a special place in your heart. What’s a phenomenal piece of architecture that you think deserves a spot on your skin?
