Jonny Gomes Got a Wicked World Series Tattoo
The 2013 Boston Red Sox led the major leagues in wins, runs scored, beards grown and outsize personalities on their way to winning the World Series.
The 2013 Boston Red Sox led the major leagues in wins, runs scored, beards grown and outsize personalities on their way to winning the World Series. One of the ringleaders of the band of goofballs that ran over the rest of the league is the heavily inked outfielder Jonny Gomes, so it should come as no surprise that he got a sick looking tattoo to commemorate the achievement.

Sox first baseman and beard enthusiast Mike Napoli tweeted out pictures of Gomes’ tattoo on Friday. The tattoo covers a good portion of Gomes’ side and features a cartoon depiction of himself that is more beard than man riding in one of the duck boats the team used for their World Series victory parade.

It’s the sort of ridiculous tattoo that seems perfectly fitting for a character like Gomes. We’re guessing that Napoli will probably head to the tattoo parlor in the near future to try and one up his friend with a World Series tattoo of his own. While we’re sure that some people will give Gomes a hard time for his new ink we’re willing to bet that everyone in Boston thinks it’s wicked awesome.
