60 Magical ‘Labyrinth’ Tattoos
Are you in love with this classic movie?
In 1955, Jim Henson was put on the map with “The Muppets” and over 30 years later, he brought audiences another great masterpiece, “Labyrinth.” “Labyrinth” debuted in 1986 and was executive produced by “Star Wars'” George Lucas. The film follows a 16-year-old girl named Sarah Williams, who was portrayed by Jennifer Connelly in one of her most iconic roles to date.
In the story, Sarah must rescue her baby half-brother Toby, who she accidentally wished away and was taken by Jareth the Goblin King, portrayed by music legend David Bowie. Sarah then travels on a magical quest through an otherworldly maze, where she encounters a slew of quirky characters played by puppets that were created by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop.
This was Henson’s second time collaborating with conceptual designer and illustrator Brian Froud, whom he’d previously worked with on 1982’s “The Dark Crystal.” When the film premiered, it performed poorly in theaters and was the last film Henson directed before his death in 1990. However, “Labyrinth” has since become an internationally renowned cult classic and continues to be celebrated by fans worldwide.
Many of Henson’s biggest fans have shown their admiration for the film through tattoos. Take a look at 60 of our favorite tattoos inspired by “Labyrinth” in the gallery below, then let us know your favorite tattoo from this list in the comments section on social media.
