Check Out Machine Gun Kelly’s Minimalistic New Tattoo

Machine Gun Kelly got himself an early birthday present—a new tattoo!

Machine Gun Kelly will be turning the big 3-1 this Thursday, and he’s celebrating his big day with a new tattoo. The rapper-turned-pop-punk-sensation had a pretty prolific 30th year on Earth, both professionally and in the building of his tattoo collection. His album “Tickets to My Downfall” spearheaded a pop-punk resurgence and MGK celebrated its release with a script tattoo just below his neck.

Now, as the year comes to a close for MGK, he’s gotten a very simple, minimalistic red line right above the aforementioned script. It’s… well, give it a gander.

At first glance it looks like somebody took a razor blade to Kelly’s neck and he’s moments away from bleeding out. But rest assured, since he posted the picture to his own Instagram, we’re pretty confident this is just a tattoo. It’s a bit of an odd choice for Kelly to take up one of his only unused sections of skin with such a minimalistic tattoo, particularly when seen in context with the rest of his collection.

Although, last month MGK got a blast-over tattoo from the highly-esteemed tattoo artist Chaim Machlev, a.k.a. DotsToLines, so maybe this is the direction MGK will be taking with his tattoos moving forward.

To us here at Inked, it seems like a major waste of valuable real estate. Neck tattoos rule and they make you look super tough most of the time, but this one honestly just looks like a wound. Or if he’s ever wearing a red shirt, a stray string.

We love MGK and we normally love his tattoo choices, but this one just doesn’t do it for us. But hey, you already know an artist who does cool blast-overs, so there’s hope for it yet.

What do y’all think about the new ink? Let us know.
