This App Connects Clients with LGBTQ Artists From Around the Globe
Check out the Queer Body Mod Compass
While 10 to 15 years ago, you were hardpressed to find an openly LGBTQ tattooer, today there are resources that connect artists and clients within the queer community. One of those resources is the Queer Bodymod Compass, an interactive Google map that helps clients from around the world to find lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, and ally artists in their area.
The app was founded by Guik, a tattooer based in Berlin, Germany who identifies as queer. The Queer Bodymod Compass currently has hundreds of documented LGBTQ artists and their numbers grow daily. The purpose of creating a global network of queer artists is to provide safety and help to “document and observe the evolution of the tattoo/bodymod universe towards queerness.”
In addition to The Queer Bodymod Compass, there are other online resources which share and celebrate artists in the LGBTQ community. Take a look at the Instagram accounts, @queer_tattooers and @qpoc.ttt to learn more.
