Gleaming the Cubism
These decks are such works of art it would be a crime to grind with them.
Every issue, we bring together a group of tattooers to create custom works of art on unusual canvases—from boxing gloves to jackets to vinyl figurines. Our art projects allow you to see your favorite tattooers in a different light, proving that there’s no limit to their creativity and innovation. This time around, we opted for skateboards and enlisted five artists to create personalized designs using a variety of art mediums. Check out their customized decks in the gallery below and thanks to Brian Arii, who donated all of the boards used for this project.
