St. Patrick’s Day is one of our favorite holidays, after all, we can get behind any occasion that encourages drinking Guinness, enjoying McDonald’s Shamrock Shakes and eating a crap ton of potatoes. St. Patrick’s Day commemorates the death of Saint Patrick, the primary patron saint of Ireland who passed away on March 17th, 461 AD. He’s best known for converting the Irish from Paganism to Christianity and in his “Declaration” alleges that he drove the snakes out of Ireland, despite the species not being native to the area.Today, St. Patrick’s Day is observed around the world and most major cities hold parades, festivals and church services for the occasion. Many celebrate the day by wearing green or shamrocks and some believe in pinching those who forget the color, however, this is mainly reserved for children. One of the biggest cities to partake in St. Patrick’s Day festivities in New York and for the first time in 250 years, the city’s parade was canceled due to the COVID-19 outbreak.Because many of us will be staying inside to avoid the pandemic, we’re celebrating St. Patrick’s Day by showcasing some of our favorite tattoo models with red hair.
