Can you believe the commitment?
Although tattoos were shunned upon by Hollywood for years, the industry is opening up a bit. There are plenty of actors who’ve gotten tattooed and for several of them, they commemorated a film or television role with a tiny (or in select cases, huge) tattoo. In most instances, actors got small, easily hidden tattoos after or sometime during filming. But for one eccentric entertainer, they got a full chest piece for a single movie role. It was recently revealed that Shia Labeouf tattooed his entire chest for a new movie called “The Tax Collector.” Now that’s a new level of dedication.

Davidson allowed friend and costar Machine Gun Kelly to practice tattooing, by accepting his character’s name from “Big Time Adolescence” on his leg.
Lady Gaga
In honor of his role in the Academy Award winning film, “A Star is Born,” Gaga got a back piece by Los Angeles artist Winterstone.
Sophie Turner
Sophie Turner has several tattoos for her film and television roles, including a flame on her finger for her X-Men character “Dark Phoenix,” and the Stark Family crest on her forearm for “Game of Thrones.”
Emilia Clarke
Like her costar Sophie Turner, Emilia Clarke got a tattoo in honor of her character Daenerys Targaryen, also known as the Mother of Dragons.
The Avengers
In 2018, “The Avengers” cast members Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Chris Evans (Captain America), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye) and Scarlett Johannson (Black Widow) got matching tattoos by Josh Lord.
Neil Patrick Harris
In honor of Netflix’s “A Series of Unfortunate Events,” Neil Patrick Harris got a tattoo of his character Count Olaf’s ink.
The Pretty Little Liars Cast
After filming for the television series “Pretty Little Liars” wrapped, cast members Shay Mitchell (Emily), Troian Bellisario (Spencer), Lucy Hale (Aria), Janel Parrish (Mona), Ashley Benson (Hanna) and Sasha Pieterse (Alison) got matching finger tattoos of their character’s first initial.
Aaron Paul
After “Breaking Bad” concluded, actor Aaron Paul got the phrase “No Half Measures” to represent a scene from season 3 episode 12.
Bryan Cranston
Bryan Cranston also got a tattoo for “Breaking Bad,” opting for the show’s logo on the inside of his finger.
The LOTR Cast
Long before matching tattoos were a major trend in Hollywood, “The Lord of the Rings” cast including Orlando Bloom (Legolas), Viggo Mortenson (Aragorn), Ian McKellen (Gandalf), Elijah Wood (Frodo), Dominic Monaghan (Merry), Billy Boyd (Pippin), Sean Astin (Samwise) and Sean Bean (Boromir) got the word “nine” tattooed in elvish on their bodies. John Rhys-Davies (Gimli) didn’t get tattoo, sending his stunt double instead.

In 2017 Tom Holland got a spider tattooed on the bottom of his foot after filming “Spider-Man: Homecoming.”

Executive producer Selena Gomez and cast members Tommy Dorfman and Alisha Boe got semicolon tattoos to bring awareness to suicide prevention.
